InterMed Group “adopts” Antonio’s Italian Restaurant

The InterMed Group found itself in a unique position to help during the Covid-19 crisis not only in the medical world, but in our own community. To give back they have adopted a small locally owned restaurant in Micanopy Florida, Antonio’s Cucina Italiana.

InterMed has been a trusted resource and has served the medical community for 30 years. Locally they are well known and respected for their dedication to making a difference and supporting many local organizations and nonprofits. Most notably, they have made incredible strides raising funds and awareness for their foundation, Tyler’s Hope. In the spirit of giving hope to others, InterMed wanted to provide assistance to a small business and their employees so that they might weather this temporary but financially impactful storms better.

For a small business, Antonio’s has always been a very big supporter of the Tyler’s Hope foundation, and the InterMed team are big fans.

CEO of InterMed Rick Staab feels that Gainesville and the Alachua County Region is the greatest, friendliest, and most supportive place to live in the country.

“I think we are enriched and empowered by doing things for others and I love this community for being very tight and supportive. This is part of our culture at InterMed and now was the opportunity to put our money where our mouth has been. Before we ever gave them anything I got a call from an employee who has a family member that said she heard we were doing this and it gave her a lot of hope and appreciation. That is what it is about so we worked harder and quicker to help Antonio’s.”

Rick called owners Arleen and Antonio personally and shared that InterMed wanted to help. He explained that they will do what they to help through the temporary hard times financially, essential items, safety equipment, and anything else InterMed could do to give them hope and make them ready for business on the other side of this pandemic. InterMed employees have also generously donated to the cause through a payroll deduction that gives back to the restaurant. 

Rick Staab shared that these are the core values they talk about being a part of InterMed’s culture and this is only one of many ways his team has lived them out. “It makes me proud and want to do more to work with such a generous and loving group of people. Some people react to crisis by balling up in the corner as a natural reaction but the InterMed team of employees went into action and unselfishly. They rose to the occasion in a very impactful way and our community should know we always will.”

The InterMed Group is a certified provided of healthcare technology management services, biomedical and imaging equipment retailer across the nation, but we are so proud that they call Greater Gainesville home.
