Innovation Ecosystem

Part of our mission at the Greater Gainesville Chamber is to provide our community with the latest and best innovations and encourage businesses that help make them possible. With a growing number of these organizations in Greater Gainesville, we are proud to help make our region a hotbed of innovation.

The Greater Gainesville region is known for innovation thanks to the Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator (ranked No. 1 in 2013 by UBI) in Progress Park, and the Innovation Hub and Infinity Hall, in Innovation Square.

Additionally, the local startup community has further elevated the region’s reputation for innovation with the help of world-class incubators such as the University of Florida’s Sid Martin Biotech Incubator (ranked No. 1 Biotech Incubator in the world in 2013 by UBI), the UF Innovation Hub, the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development, Hacker House,  and more.

Additionally, the success of companies that have been nurtured in Greater Gainesville’s innovation ecosystem –including AGTC and RTI Surgical–have resulted in billions in IPOs and acquisitions.

A reason for Greater Gainesville’s successful startup culture is our diverse array of top-tier business incubators, which serve entrepreneurs ranging from tech and life science innovators to restauranteurs.
