Level the Playing Field with Sales Tax Fairness
- The Issue If a state has a tax already in place, but isn’t collecting it, it is not a new tax. It’ a tax that is already due. Florida is collecting a fraction of the taxes it should from online sales, and small brick-and-mortar businesses are paying the price. It’s time for Florida to level the playing field for local businesses and collect the conservatively estimated $612 million it is missing out on each year by not collecting this tax. The Florida Legislature should approve House Bill 15 and Senate Bill 50. Want more info? Check out this short backgrounder.
- Take Action: Let lawmakers know you support sales tax fairness for brick and mortar businesses. Complete the form below to add your name to the growing list of businesses that want a fair sales tax policy in Florida. We will make sure your business is represented in each committee as HB 15 and SB 50 travel through the legislative process.
