You are here: Home / Public Policy Overview / Session Central

This page will serve as a hub of information for the 2021 State Legislative Session. Read below to find information and updates on our legislative priorities, access each issue of the Legislative Update and learn the actions we need you to take to help make this legislative session a success.

At its core, the 2020-2021 Focus Forward agenda is about making life better for people in the ways that matter most in this critical moment in time – creating more and better jobs, optimizing education pathways and unleashing upward mobility in what we know will be a new and very different economy. Read the full agenda here.

Stay in the loop.

During legislative committee weeks, we release a Legislative Update biweekly on Thursdays. When the official Legislative Session begins, we provide weekly issues of the Legislative Update on Thursdays. You can find both current and past issues below.

Level the Playing Field with Sales Tax Fairness

  • The Issue If a state has a tax already in place, but isn’t collecting it, it is not a new tax. It’ a tax that is already due. Florida is collecting a fraction of the taxes it should from online sales, and small brick-and-mortar businesses are paying the price. It’s time for Florida to level the playing field for local businesses and collect the conservatively estimated $612 million it is missing out on each year by not collecting this tax. The Florida Legislature should approve House Bill 15 and Senate Bill 50. Want more info? Check out this short backgrounder.
  • Take Action: Let lawmakers know you support sales tax fairness for brick and mortar businesses. Complete the form below to add your name to the growing list of businesses that want a fair sales tax policy in Florida. We will make sure your business is represented in each committee as HB 15 and SB 50 travel through the legislative process.
