Advanced Manufacturing Council Board Plans for MAF SummitMarch 12th, 2016 by gainesvillechamber
The Chamber’s Advanced Manufacturing Council Board held a regularly scheudled meeting on March 9. The Council, Chaired by Ryan Loftus of Exactech, discussed plans to highlight Gainesville in the 2016 Manufacturers Association of Florida (MAF) Summit and Marketplace being held in Gainesville on November 15-17. Manufacturers from around the state will meet at the event and showcase their products and technology. The Council hopes to draw the attention of Florida to Gainesville to highlight our local manufacturing industry. Sponsorship and vendor opportunities will be available.
Other items discussed at the Council board meeting included the support of the Deparment of Labor H1-B TEchHire Grant application. CareerSource North Central Florida received letters of support from Council member companies as well as the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce in effort for our community to receive workforce training funds.
Plans are also in the works for the next general council meeting, where area manufacturers come together to network, learn best practices and tour local facilities. Please save the date for the next general Council meeting – Behind the Scenes -scheduled for May 11th from 5 to 7pm.
