Alachua County Library District’s Author Series presents award-winning environmental journalist and author Cynthia Barnett on Saturday, February 20, 2:30 p.m. at Headquarters Library, 401 E. University Avenue, Gainesville. Barnett will talk about her latest book Rain: A Natural and Cultural History, which was nominated for the National Book Award in Nonfiction. Hear Barnett tell this eclectic story by combining science and history with humor, anecdotes, poetry, and personal travel adventures. Her two previous books are Blue Revolution: Unmaking America’s Water Crisis and Mirage: Florida and the Vanishing Water of the Eastern U.S. Blue Revolution. Books will be available for purchase.
