A guest column by Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman John V. Carlson—who also is President/CEO of Charles Perry Partners, Inc.—was published in Sunday’s edition of the Gainesville Sun. The piece articulates the business community’s commitment to growing opportunity in Greater Gainesville by calling for actions that will create jobs in areas that really need them and have been left behind, address underemployment, help UF achieve preeminence and help the county achieve conservation goals at no taxpayer expense.
Recently, the county issued a report in which staff recommends that County Commissioners deny the most recent Envision Alachua Sector Plan. The Chairman’s column calls upon Alachua County Commissioners to adopt policies that are both business-friendly and supportive of conservation efforts. Specifically, the Chairman asks County leaders to support the Envision Alachua Sector Plan. Read more here.
