Manufacturing Month Update

As we continue to celebrate Manufacturing Month, we would like to announce that the last Advanced Manufacturing Council general meeting of 2015 will be held on November 10th from 5 -7:30 p.m. at the #1 Community College in the Nation, Santa Fe College. During this meeting, the 2016 board will be announced in addition to key manufacturing training and education programs.  As one of their three goals this year, Kathy Hellriegel, Chair and the 14 board members of the Council focused on training and educational programs which align student learning with skills required for advanced manufacturing careers. In addition to their biotechnology program in Alachua, Santa Fe College shares in a $10 million federal grant that will be used to provide training and education for the manufactured construction industry in Florida. John McNeely, who heads Career and Technical Education and Secondary Career Pathways will highlight these programs and other key manufacturing programs at the Perry Construction Building (Building O) on the main campus. Also learn about new funding recently applied for at Santa Fe College and updates on the Santa Fe College’s Gainesville Technology Entrepreneurship Center.
