Leadership Gainesville 40 Raises $20,000 for Education Foundation

On Saturday, October 10, the Town of Tioga was rock’n and roll’n for the first annual Battle of the Bands, produced by the LG Class 40. This event featured six local bands that competed for a prize package worth over $5000 including a Recording Package from SkyLab Studios! The free event also featured a live auction, food trucks and vendors. The competing bands were: Jamie Davis, GRIT, Idylwild, Crosscut, HEDGES and Cliff Dorsey. Jamis Davis was named the winner, and GRIT came in second place.

Through sponsorships and “day of” sales and donations, over $20,000 was raised to support the Education Foundation’s Take Stock in Children  program. The dollars that were raise will be matched by the state, making the total $40,000 towards Take Stock in Children! Northwestern Mutual of Gainesville was the title sponsor for this year’s event. LG40 plans to host the event again next year so get excited for another fun-filled day of coming together for a great cause!
