On Oct. 26th and 27th, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce led a delegation of area business and government leaders in meetings with members of Congress, federal government agencies, and other stakeholders.
The delegation discussed business issues with the following stakeholders: U.S. Senator Bill Nelson; U.S. Congressman Ted Yoho; U.S. Congresswoman Corrine Brown; U.S. Congressman John Mica; J.R. Sanchez, Senior Policy Advisor, Office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio; U.S. Small Business Administration HUBZone Program Director Mariana Pardo; U.S. Federal Highway Administration Congressional Liaison Heather Dean; and Brett Bolton, Deputy Director, Office of Florida Governor Rick Scott in Washington, DC.
Chamber delegation members included the following individuals: Chamber Public Policy Committee Chair and Parrish-McCall Vice President Bryan Harrington; Public Policy Committee Member and CHW President Robert Walpole; The Honorable Doug Jones, Mayor, City of Archer; The Honorable Craig Carter, Gainesville City Commissioner; and Kamal I. Latham, Vice President of Public Policy at the Chamber.
