Gainesville Area Chamber Among Top Three Finalists in Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives’ 2015 Chamber of the Year CompetitionJune 8th, 2015 by gainesvillechamber
Chamber of the Year Award recognizes the dual role chambers have in leading both businesses and communities
The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives has ranked the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce in the top three 2015 National Chamber of the Year finalists among similarly sized chambers. The award designates that recognized chambers have demonstrated not only organizational strength in operations and member services, but also have shown community leadership by impacting priorities such as education, transportation, business development and quality of life.
“This award validates the Chamber’s work in leading the transformation of Greater Gainesville into a global hub of talent, innovation and opportunity,” said Gainesville Area Chamber Interim President/CEO Susan Davenport. “Moving forward we will continue to raise the bar in facilitating and securing projects which provide opportunities throughout our region.”
Winners in each of the five award categories will be announced at ACCE’s Annual Convention, Aug. 11-14 in Montreal.
Since 2007, ACCE has annually recognized up to four chambers of commerce in various size categories with the award. In 2014, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce received 5-star accreditation from the United States Chamber of Commerce, a designation held by less than one percent of all Chambers in the country.
