Are you interested in moving your products into global markets, but unsure how to get started? If so, Export University 101—a training program of the Chamber’s Export Gainesville program — can help. Slated to be held June 23, 2015, from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Export University is designed to help companies begin an export initiative and to gain skills and innovation in their international sales.
In 2014, Endoscopy Replacement Parts participated in the Export Gainesville program to seek a more proactive approach to international marketing.
“Many regional companies are interested in exporting but are not sure where to start,” noted John Hartnett, Vice President of Global Business Development at Endoscopy Replacement Parts, Inc. (ERPI) in Newberry, FL . “Although our company currently sells internationally, we were being reactive to buyers who were looking for our 2000+ endoscope repair products.”
Through Export Gainesville, Endoscopy Replacement Parts worked with professionals from Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development agency. Over five months, Enterprise Florida helped the company develop a comprehensive marketing plan—which included specific indicators identifying international countries to target immediately– which the company has been able to use to increase its international marketing proactivity. Delivered by the U.S. Commercial Service, Export 101 is designed for new-to-export firms that would like expert advice on the export basics.
“The Export University 101 program is designed to help companies get the basics of exporting, which can serve as a precursor to the targeted marketing assistance available to companies through Export Gainesville,” said the Chamber’s Director of Industry Relations Staci Bertrand.
Export University 101 was developed by the Florida District Export Council in cooperation with the Florida Trade Alliance Partners. Attendees will receive a certificate following completion of the course, which is ideal for marketing and sales management and staff, export operations personnel, purchasing, logistics, and anyone with a responsibility for export functions.
