Governor Signs Online Voter Registration into lawMay 26th, 2015 by gainesvillechamber
Florida Governor Rick Scott has signed into law a bill that will allow online voter registration beginning in 2017. While visiting legislators in Tallahassee this past March, a Chamber-led delegation of business leaders expressed support for online voter registration because of its potential for cost savings and efficiency.
Arizona was the first state to implement voter registration, and saw the cost of processing registration forms reduced from 83 cents to 3 cents. It is anticipated that Florida could realize similar cost savings.
