10 Months Later and Innovation Hub is Growing Strong
85 new jobs and $72 million in private investment has been the result of Innovation Hub’s success just 10 months after the program started. These numbers come after having to be reported to the U.S. Economic Development Administration as a requirement of the $8.2 million grant that was received to construct the hub that opened in October 2011. With 25 companies having been moved into Innovation Hub’s business incubator since its opening, some companies have already graduated and moved into office space throughout Gainesville. Shadow Health and Gamedayr’s are two examples of companies that grew as a result of moving into Innovation Hub and are now functioning in larger work spaces.
“We’re well over 100 employees now,” said Jane Muir, hub director. Many of the hubs companies’ investments are confidential.
